Oakleigh House Museum
This building is the oldest house museum in Mobile, and was once the home of one of its most wealthy citizens during the antebellum period. The house is a good example of Greek Revival architecture, and has been restored to look much as it did when it was first built in 1833. It now functions as a museum with periodic special exhibitions, and also hosts events such as weddings and receptions. There is also a Union barracks on the property that was used during the Civil War that tells part of the tale of Southern Reconstruction and Emancipation.
